There has been a lot of activity behind the scenes of One Summer in Swineshead during the last few months and I am pleased to announce that we are now counting down to the project’s grande finale, a photographic exhibition at the village’s gallery, Arts Coritani.
I am very grateful to 2 of my photographer friends, Dave Overton who has recently retired from the University of Lincoln and Emma Georgiou who currently has her work on show at the Format photography festival, for helping me to make the final selection of photographs for the exhibition. It was a tough task as between them, the project’s participants had taken over 200 photographs, but after much deliberation, careful consideration and discussion we managed to agree on 26 images that we felt captured the essence of Swineshead life in the summer of 2014 perfectly.
Will you agree with our choices? The One Summer in Swineshead exhibition opens on Friday 10th April and runs until Thursday 23rd April (see the flyer above for more details). If you are unable to make it, you can view the complete archive of photographs taken during the project here.
